hey guys we're in

i'm going to enjoy my time off.

I won't.

:frown:

Yeah, those damn Baylor and MU games…didn’t see those coming.  Going to be kinda difficult during our E8 run, knocking off 10 seeded UCONN (can you imagine the CKAdventure?), then watching Izzo’s wife squirm as we take it to #2 Michigan State, with a week to build up as we face #6 Florida and we get our Shipman/Kadji revenge.

Just tried to read it, too long.  Skimmed it and took away that they do whatever they want.

Okay just read the entire thing, they used K-State volleyball as one of their examples, and there was absolutely a mistake made by someone.  There are provisions that mention "reasonable distance" and "metropolitan area" but within each of these provisions having the game in your ST package is also required.  K-State being close to Kansas City is not a reason to have it count as a home game.  I checked OU's schedule and the game they play in OKC counted as a neutral site game.  In addition to that they played Cincinnati in Cincinnati but not on UC's campus, that was also counted as a neutral site game.

Long story short, the KC & Wichita games fit the rather detailed criteria for neutral sites, not sure why there is an error, but its definitely an error.

This section ran together for another one, but I'm fairly certain this is why KC is considered a home game:

Quote
is in the same area of Team A and Team A plays some or several "home" games there each season. Oftentimes these games are included in the season ticket package offered by the school. Example: The Connecticut men's basketball team plays some of its home games in its hometown of Storrs; however, the Huskies play most of their games in nearby Hartford. Both sites are considered home sites.

I'm fairly certain that at least once the KC game was part of the ST package. Even though its not now, the KC game has become a regular game, and since we have sold season tickets there in the past (especially when playing weaker opponents), I'm sure the NCAA has stuck with the home designation.

Yeah the very first KC game was in the season ticket package it hasn't since then.  I dug a bit more, looking at the nitty gritty reports from the last few years and there is one "missing" neutral game from the last couple of years.  If you go to the past schedules on kstatesports.com (for some reason they only have schedules from the previous two seasons) they have a schedule breakdown at the top and its true, Kansas State for some strange reason doesn't consider the KC game a neutral site game.

Pretty bizarre that because the game there was a season ticket four years ago that its considered a home game.  I certainly wouldn't consider it a regular site like UCONN and the XL Center, they play the occasional conference game there for goodness sakes.  If KSU starts alternating between there and Wichita would it then be a true neutral site?  Maybe KSU wants to consider it a home site for the attendance average boost?  Who knows, I don't think anyone but you and I are even reading this at this point.

It is an interesting thing to me at least. Besides, I think its you and I and a handful of others reading half the stuff on here anyway.

It appears that the KC game is also considered a home game for KU.  Sidebar, warrennolan.com has the nitty gritty reports from the past 10 seasons.  Definitely will refer to the reports of the past when I hear the committee spin on TRUtv on Sunday night.

I think we both agree that it should be a neutral site game, we are just hunting for the rationale for making KC a home game but Wichita a neutral site.
