It's easy to tell who the EMAWs and who the Squawks are in threads like this

i was just thinking about how much ar-t reminds me of young sherron collins.  similar builds, similar games (though of course, ar-t is more passy).  collins might have had a slight confidence advantage, but ar-t is certainly in the same range.

I think it is safe to say that ar-t also has a not likely to become grotesquely obese advantage.

if someone told me 4 months ago that ar-t was on track to be my favorite ksu cat of all time (unseating Denis Clemente) I would have punched them in the face and balls and rubbed cayenne pepper into their eyes and balls.  now, I would kind of move my head to the side while nodding and make my eyes big and say, "amazing that there is a chance of that happening. We should be real life friends and talk about it."

That's a really good comparison. Lots of people don't realize how strong Angel is, because they see he's Mexican and think he's the same as Denis.

I understand they play really good basketball on that one Mexican Island, so that's probably why Ar-T stands a chance to be a lot like or maybe better than Denny, who also played on that Mexican Island . . . or so I'm told anyway.

Not even close.  Collins was a 5-star McDonald's All-American prospect who is one of the top 3 or 4 point guards in KU history.  Rodriguez is a slow, unathletic 3-star point guard who can't shoot, pass, or play defense.  His 0 points on 0-8 shooting with 7 turnovers ties for the 3rd-worst performance by a starting point guard this season.

Sucks?  No.  Completely out-matched by KU's long and athletic guards?  Yes.  A big reason why KU was able to win in Manhattan?  Yes.  A future stud?  Probably not.

Watched most your game against 'Bama, LBSU, Texas (twice), Baylor, Oklahoma (twice), and a few others.  I've never watched and thought "wow, that Angel Rodriguez kid is really good."  I have actually been really impressed with Martavious Irving and Thomas Gipson at times, though.

A freshman Sherron would have gotten destroyed by a senior T. Taylor as well.

Speaking of builds, Angel really has a similar build to Jake IMO.  He isn't quite as strong yet but I think he will develop similar floor skills.  He also has a knack for making (though he fails more now than he will in the future) big plays despite not being super quick.  He is quick but not lightning fast.  Jake was similar though I think Angel is a bit quicker than Jake, they are both good at exploiting cracks in defenses.

Angel will also probably be a better ballhandler than JAke if he isn't already.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I see a guy who sees plays devlope and has the confidence to make plays that a lot of players wouldn't see or lack the confidence to try and pull off.  As he gets older he is going to wow us with his playmaking ability.  Hell, if we had more/ better options on the recieving end of some of his passes we would be saying "wow" a lot more.
