Advice on Big XII Tor-nament Tickets?
« on: February 09, 2012, 06:18:29 PM »
Anyone have suggestions on the best way to get tickets -- ticket office? Outside the Sprint Center?

I realize it may depend on how soon Mizzou/KU bow out. I have never been to the tournament in KC so thought you might have some insight. (4 of us from various parts of the country meeting up there.) Leaning toward taking a chance on tickets on the street. Thanks, in advance.

Just all depends on who keeps winning and where they're slotted. KU and K-State are the 2 biggest drivers. Mizzou and Iowa State to a lesser extent. You should be able to get in free to the first session this year with aTm, Tech, OSU, Texas, OU or KSU involved in it. After that, just depends on the matchups. It will get pretty expensive if the area schools keep winning, especially if they're matched up. You may be able to get in cheaper if you wait until after the games begin to buy a ticket, but you're gonna have to be willing to take the risk of watching at a bar.

I think Mizzou draws a lot more fans this year given record, and leaving the conference.   Scalping will probably be less attractive given the fans of KU and MU both expecting to make it deep.

Have your kid refuse to color a picture of a Big12 team's mascot in school.  Send an email to the AD of the "rival" team, sit back, and wait for free tickets, parking passes, etc.
