If he stayed through this season he would've got another semester of tuition free at Duke. Also, more schools would have available scholarship spots at that point, which would give him more transfer options. Most importantly he could've played a full two years wherever he transferred. Instead, he's going to have to enter the rotation in the spring and likely end up splitting minutes with whoever carried his position through the nonconference in his junior season. He will only get to own his position for his senior year. It's unfortunate a highly touted recruit like Semi will be left with so little on court experience leaving college IMO.
