I always tip high to the local place, b/c then they deliver your pizza super fast. Even when it's raining and rush hour and whatnot.

oh and fyi, as a former delivery driver, the % thing doesn't work the same for drivers as it does waiters. Any driver who thinks this is an idiot. As long as you give enough for a gallon or two of gas, it's not a bad tip. Bad would have been $1 or 2. It's a college town, I doubt the guy drove very far from the pizza place to the hotel.

I usually pay the Papa Johns delivery guy $2, plus they add an additional $2 delivery fee.  Should I be tipping him more?
hell no. You shouldn't give the additional two.

I used to figure the delivery fee as part of my tip until somebody told me that the driver only gets 50 cents off that $2 fee. Then I felt pretty bad and started tipping a little bit more.

They get none, that money goes to insurance for the company and signage, etc.. The thing about tipping delivery guys for a larger order is because most of the time they have to make your food too, wait on it, get it all ready and bring it to you.. They normally will miss out on a couple normal deliveries because they have to take the big order, they do get mileage but each pizza place does the differently and with all of them the general theme is you get slightly less money per gallon than you're actually using..

As a member of the K-State football team, I apologize on behalf of our entire athletics department. Coach Snyder always challenges us to be as polite and appreciative as possible to those who serve us in any way, and represent ourselves with dignity and class. It truly and deeply hurts me to see our university depicted in this light. Was this pizza for a team event (paid for by the athletics department) or was this the doing of the players themselves?
eff you, LHC Bill Snyder.  :shakesfist:

next time you want papa johns just call in your order for pick-up and then text me or something to let me know. for four dollars, i'll probably just drive the half mile to go pick it up and bring it back to you.

A 1.4% tip?  Come on guys... that's pretty bad.  I realize you love K-State and everything, but I thought this was goEMAW, not GoPowertard.com.  I thought you guys were able to see things objectively and give criticism where criticism was due.

We don't know how bad this mouthbreathers service was. Is it our team's fault that they have to eat in that shithole of a city? No, its Dan Beebe's for not kicking ISU and their flooded facilities to the curb and trying to keep Missouri.

I hate server snobs, eff you winters. I served at On the border, carlos o kellys, and barleys and you deal w/ a lot of crap. Then ppl who think they're "elite" because of mommy and daddys money look down at you and raise their pinkys in the air, when you know yourself that you get laid more then they do. I'm still trying to convince myself they left some cash on the table or something.

I guarantee you there was gratuity added in.  So the tip was about 19.4%

K-State is west of the floodplain, Downtwon manhattan would be screwed but the university would be fine.

Can any local townies confirm? From staying up there a couple of summer I always heard that if there was some sort of earthquake or if Tuttle Bursted you had to get to the university or further west to be safe....

Why is this continuing to be debated? This happened and the driver/server combo is too stupid to understand it, or they are rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to not put a gratuity on an order that large and it's their own fault.
