Hey everybody ... since SkinnyBenny outed me (and Steve Dave tried to cover for me; thanks, SD), I might as well say it.  Catmatt's been to Tokyo, even learned a little bit of Japanese before going.  It's an amazing a beautiful city if you like cities, but for a broader sense of Japanese culture, take a train to the country.  Oh, and enjoy the pizza buffets at their version of Pizza Hut -- seaweed pizza, squid pizza, etc.

I have more advise.  And pictures if you want them.

Daris, you should try to find a pair of Japanese finger cuffs.

If you’re going to be in Tokyo for a mileage run or otherwise, you can stay in the Hilton Narita for 5,000 ¥ which is about 3,000 ¥ cheaper than normal. You may have to use the Japanese site (instead of English) as there was a glitch, but it should be fixed now.

you probably already went though  :frown:

it takes a day to get there and a day to get back. i'd prob only be able to stay for four days or so though, so we'd be talking around six days total maybe?

That is much better for me, as well.  Would be fun to pak and watch a cats game from a bar in Tokyo, assuming that Rick would let me go.

If you can't take an afternoon to go to opening day I'd say a week in Japan is not happening.
