i've come full circle on mitch, the guy is awesome.

suck it, haters.

Followed Mitch on twitter yesterday.

Been refusing to do so for over a year now regardless of Twitter continuing to recommend it.

he doesn't tweet

Then why does Twitter recommend him so strongly?

because a lot of the people you follow also follow him not tweeting.  I follow him, he sits there silently.  He knows what he has done.

I like Mitch when he's calling a game. But when he is on BITB or if you ever happen to catch the "Chiefs Kingdom" show, though, my god.  :goodbyecruelworld:

Remember who signs his checks

Yeah, I try not to base any of my thoughts about Mitch on the Chief's Kingdom show. I do wonder if all diehard NFL fans that listen to their team's radio shows are like that. Its just a very strange deal.

When he gets the entire crowd to yell "Put the Hammer Down" is quite funny i think and shows the type of people that go to a call in show.

"We've got the X-Factor here tonight!  Very special night, we are opening the book!"

Can't even begin to describe how much I love it when he drops the "K-State's good in the Octagon of Doom, or the Purple Palace, whatever you want to call it" hammer.

Wasn't it Mitch who coined "Dobermans". I swear it was him. His quote was "These guys play like rough ridin' Doberman Pinchers. They'll rip your rough ridin' face off."

I thought I remember him saying that.

IIRC Mitch tried to claim OOD for a bit. I could be mistaken.

He TRIED.  We ate his rough ridin' lunch on that one.

I do give him the nod on the dobermans, however.

Yeah, dobermans is good and it stuck. Have to give him some respect for that. And that's a great poster.

Yes the dobermans and also calling Larry Johnson the centaur have cemented Mitch's place in play-by-play folklore

Back in the day he would say so-and-so "climbed the purple ladder" when a Cat receiver such as Kevin Lockett had to jump to catch the ball.

He's alright...he does his homework, I'll give him that.

He claimed one of my ideas on BITB one day.  Pissed me off.

I remember that being for rebounds...

"and once again DC (Darryl Cunningham) climbs the purple ladder for a defensive rebound. The minister of defense has been giving the Sooners trouble all evening long...."

Remember ACDC? Aaron Collier ? and DC were always climbing the purple ladder.  Mitch is a goofy bastard and although I have never heard Chiefs Kingdom i am sure it sucks like no other.  He got much worse when he went to the Chiefs, I guess to pander to the idiot element of their fans.  But Mitch is alright with me.

If I can get to it, I will post an image of my Mitch artifact from my K-State collection later this evening...
