I think after the Baylor game, Frank decided that "we're not there yet" and if we want to "make a run in March", I have to "break them down and build them back up".  I'm pretty sure most coaches wouldn't do this because it pretty much guaranteed a loss at Oklahoma and makes it a grind over the next few games.  But I think Frank has a big enough ego and enough backing from Currie that he isn't scared to take chances like this and lose a few conference games in order to make this team better in March.  Also, I don't the he gaf about Jo Henriquez because he's got Upshaw coming in next year and won't need a whiney upper classman that will stand up to him.

That is all.

And if you are going to break them down and build them up and try to teach (or re-teach) some classic Frank BIOQBB it doens't hurt to have a stretch of 6 games with 5 of them against the bottom 4 teams of the league. If you lose a bunch of these you were never going to "get there" anyway in all likelyhood.

And then Frank can play the "we're a really young team" card... again. Win-win for Frank. Big loss for the team --- and JO, who's currently one of the best defenders in the the Big XII.

in regards to frank "getting the team ready for march"....we've only made it past the first weekend once.  and we've looked pretty bad/lost in the our game in the big 12 tourney  (sans the one year that  we made it past the first weekend).   we're coached by frank martin, not tom izzo.

isn't the 2nd weekend of the tourney often in april?

I love Frank, but I'm worried.  Every year it seems Frank breaks the team down after a lackluster showing, so far every year the team has responded positively.  18-22 year old kids respond in all directions, tonight I believed that we would play hard and win, but what if the team said a collective "eff you Frank" and layed down?  It could have been a turning point in Franks career, If he lost the team tonight and went on to a 8-11 big12 record followed by transfers of Angel, Diaz, and Gip what then?  All I am saying is when you poke your finger in the chest of a 20 yr. old, you don't know how they will respond.  If it is positive, good for you Frank.  If there is mutiny aboard the "goodship wildcat" your potty mouth could be lookin' for a job.  To me it just doesn't seem like the type of gamble Frank should take after we make some silly mistakes and lose to the fourth ranked team in the nation.  If this is going to be Franks mo year after year it is bound to backfire and after going 4 for his first 4 sooner rather than later.

If Frank losing the team and kids "backfiring" means we make it to the round of 32, then yeah, that was a great post.

If we we would have made it to the round of 32 and still had Frank as our coach, then your post would be undeniably top notch.

We still have no real confirmation that the team hated frank. I mean yeah I could see it but nobody has spoken out about having problems.

Unless you want to count hearing from everyone who ever bumped into Will Spradling or took his order at a fast food place.  Though, imo, Will can STFU and get out himself
