I finally ordered a USB N64 controller so I can play old ROMs on my laptop.  Pretty cool you can just download ROMs for free and run them on a emulator like Project64.  Started Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time yesterday, such a GREAT game.

Haven't had a console in years.  Not bad

Forgot to update this.  I got the Damascus cammo unlocked last month.   :gocho:

How good is Witcher 3?  Any fans?

I am a big Elder Scrolls and Fallout fan.  Not sure if I would like Witcher 3. Thoughts?

ROM seems ambiguous in this context. I want to hear more about this, though. Can you access any N64 game, or is the library limited? And is it legal?

I LOVE the Witcher 3. It has a great story, cool/unique gear options and crafting, combat is pretty smooth. I'm a rough ridin' gwent savant. Somewhere between gta and skyrim on the adult content meter if your kids will be around.

I bought it on some Xbox sale for like $15 but would have no problem paying full price for it after playing.

Pretty pumped for the studio's next game cyberpunk 2077

Legal, no. Any game, yes. 64 games are a bit awkward because of the unusual original controller though

The ROM is just a copy of the data from the cartridge/board/etc it originated from.  The emulator then uses that to allow you to play the game.  There are emulators for a bunch of old systems and most of the games come from an open source.  There are a bunch of websites that have ROMs and you can find basically any game you want.

I know what ROM stands for, but why not just say "games"? Dork...

I wanted to be technically accurate in what I was describing...  :dunno:

In Bentonville, AR on vacation hanging with the fam. About to meet the creator of DOOM tonight. One of my brothers friends. Let me know what questions you have for him in advance.

the creator of doom is john carmack who happens to be a personal hero of mine
my question to him would be why he didn’t support Return to Castle Wolfenstein more and does he regret the expansion to Enemy Territory.

then i’d ask him why quakecon allowed the best teams to leave the game and move to other franchises

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Was there a co-creator from the ‘93 version of Doom, with the first name Adrian? Am I being punk’d by my bro right now? Dude is definitely rich and made it from Doom.

Adrian Carmack is one of four co-founders of id Software, along with Tom Hall, John Romero, and John Carmack (no relation). The founders met while working at Softdisk's Gamer's Edge division and started id in 1991. Adrian Carmack's primary role at the company was as an artist, including work on Commander Keen, Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, Hexen: Beyond Heretic, Quake, Quake II and Quake III Arena. Nice guy, but he has a hell of a slice on his drives and can't putt for crap.

Ask him why they ripped off Chex Quest and called it DOOM.

Ask him how pissed off he is about this

He was a 41%-owner of id until he left the company in 2005. At the time the press was told he felt he had done all he could do in the gaming field and was planning to pursue his passions of art. However, in September 2005, The Wall Street Journal revealed he was taking his former business partners to court, claiming he was effectively fired by them in an attempt to force him to sell his 41% stake in the company for $11 million under the terms of a contract he wants the court to nullify. $11 million is thought to be a fraction of the true value of his stake, which is thought to be closer to $43 million after the company received a $105 million bid from Activision in 2004.[2]

And ask if you can chill at his golf spa deal

In September 2014, Carmack was revealed as the new owner of the five-star Heritage Golf & Spa Resort in Killenard, Ireland.[4]

Mostly ask him how TF he bought an irish golf and spa resort with only $11m. Assume he raked elsewhere from Doom to do so. or got a nice 30 year mortgage.
