I'm trying to delay the main story as much as possible.

What are you doing then? I suppose I use the missions as reasons to explore the map. I don't typically go to uncharted territory unless a mission takes me there.

Legendary Animals
Perfect pelts for sweet hats and crap from the trapper
mumped up surprises in abandoned cabins
Tracking down rival gang hidey holes and murdering them over and over
Working the challenges (weapons, sharp shooting, hunting, herbs)

Personally I just get involved in doing other in game things and then every now and then go and continue the story.  I'm currently exploring the parts of the map that are available right now (accidentally finding gang hideouts) and hunting legendary animals.

I'm in chapter 6, and it's really good. End of chapter 4 and start of 5 get really nuts and, as an FYI to others, are pretty long and force you to keep doing story missions. You can tell when you are approaching the end of 4, so just know that you'll need probably 2 hours or so before you can get back to an open world and hunt and crap.

All of this.  So much fun.  I need to concentrate more on the challenges....I haven't been doing a good job on that.

I just nailed the Legendary Boar around 6:30am this morning before I went to work.

I've been searching for that one, up and down the area between Saint Denis and where I found the Legendary Beaver.

I've been doing a lot of fishing lately. Just learned I need to go meet some guy named Jeremy Gill and mail him some fish before the legendary fish option opens for me. Even though I've already stumbled upon some legendary fishing territory. This will most likely be my new task for the next few days.

I'm on Chapter 6. If i would do it over again, i would basically pause the story at Chapt 4 and just run around and do all the challenges, treasure maps, hunting, etc.

I'm still hanging out in Chapter 3, so I'll go ahead and push to 4, and then hang out there.

I'm in Chapter 6.  I'm so rich and I don't care about buying anything and I don't care about making any more money.

I'm in the Epilogue, and I'm basically John D. Rockefeller.

I feel like money is zero issue at all after you get the gold bar in chapter 3ish. Or maybe it was some other mission. At this point I’m not sure why Arthur hasn’t booked the entire gang on a boat to Tahiti.

I'm still in chapter 3 and blowing money left and right on all gold guns with mesquite grips and stocks.

Is it worth playing the epilogues? Can you go back and do any of the white bubble side missions after the main story is over?
