It's not quite the same since the OBX became such a popular vacation destination, but if you're ever out there, you gotta make it over to Ocracoke Island which is 95% National Seashore, so it's not developed and stop in have a couple at Howard's.

Eskimo Joe's, Stillwater - make sure you get a t-shirt so everyone knows you visited

Also, make sure you get the cheese fries. They are George Bush's favorite. :lick:

Good point. It's no wonder so many people go to that rat castle to watch basketball games. It's their only break from being lowlife alcoholic losers.

Tried to watch a Chiefs game at Kites a week or so back. Waitress told my friend and I to have a seat anywhere. We did.

We sat there for 20 minutes browsing a menu waiting for service. Several other people sat down nearby and were immediately served. Made eye contact with several waitresses and a waiter. No service.

I got up, said eff it, and went to Buffalo Wild-wings. Waitress there was cute. eff Kites.

Hessen Haus in Des Moines.

It's a place where you can drink out of a boot!

http://www.hessenhaus.com/

Last time I was there they had a band playing named the Moose Knucklers.

lil' sis dragged me out there once - many boots were had, and frankly, i don't remember much about it.  must've been pretty fun     <--- but passing a boot

Shenago Lounge in Lawrence.

i honestly think the record actually skipped when we went in.

The main evidence professor at ku law uses that as the location of every hypothetical he gives.

 :horrorsurprise:

Prater ever tell you the story about how he served on a jury once?  Pretty funny story actually.

I realize this turned into a hur-hur-hur thread a while back, but...

The Edison in LA is probably the coolest bar I've ever been in.  www.edisondowntown.com  Been there a couple of times now.

It's an underground bar in the basement of The Higgins building in downtown LA.  It used to be a private power plant that powered a majority of downtown.  IIRC, the landlord bought the space when it was under like 9 feet of water after the basement flooded.  Click on the visual tour on the website and you can see the floor plan. Then click on each area and click on the little yellow ticket that pops up and you can get hi-def 360 view of each area.

It's both.  I'm actually very interested in real good ones as well as promoting Kites, voted #1 college bar in america.

I love Brits in Minneapolis.
