In Frank's 4 conference seasons K-State has gotten off to great starts twice and had two shitty starts.  Not that it matters even a little bit to you, continue with the incorrect talking point.

It's okay guys, no need to explain another pee down their leg performance at AFH.   

It's just what teams coached by Frank do at the place.

Murdered on the boards, horrible shooting, momentum killing defensive changes, poor defensive recognition at key moments, horrendous hands, horrible shot selection . . . in other words, just another night at AFH for a Frank Martin coached basketball team.

I expect K-State to bounce back on Saturday, however if Frank is going to have them play the usual "Everybody run to the basketball" defense against mu, it does have the potential to be a really long day as well.

frank did decide to go away from our normal offense at the beginning of the game and force the ball into the paint hoping to draw fouls on their bigs.  unfortunately their bigs are better than he estimated or, we played worse in the paint than he wanted.  either way, we didn't play well outside of our basic offense which led to bad shots, and worse rebounding in the first 5-8 minutes of the game.  this set the tone.

There's a difference between not playing well and coming out looking like you're scared to death.  We're the rough ridin' JYC and we start this game like a bunch of pansies hoping the big bad Jayhawks don't beat us too bad.  Next year Frank needs to send out an enforcer to set the tone for the game.  Tell him he wants 5 fouls in the first 10 minutes and he'd better make them count.  Seems like JO finally realized we needed to get physical somewhere along the way, but it was too late and then we got one of our most important players in foul trouble.

I don't care that we lost.  I expected to lose.  What's rough ridin' embarrassing is how we let them take away our strengths right out of the box.

In Frank's defense, it's what every K-State coach and every team we have assembled has done over the past twenty five years.

Shitting our pants in Lawrence is what we do.  We play like a bunch of pussies.  We might as well forfeit the game and save the embarassment because we're defeated before we even step onto the court.

Thankfully, Frank has at least gotten the program over the mental hurdle of competing against KU on our home court.  And that's a great first step in itself.

i think he failed to realize that so much of our identity (JYC) is born from our everyday offense.  can't fault him for attacking their bigs and lack of depth but the reality is that it would have taken an act of God for the refs to blow a whistle  in the paint at the beginning of the game and our big men were so amped they were just forcing the issue down low, which will never get a call.   it seems like he should have known these things would occur, as well as the importance of the rebounding born from our offense, but like i said, it was a good concept.

Yeah, I think you nailed it. Frank put a lot of faith in our bigs matching up well with KU's. Once KU set the tone we were in trouble.
