Post surgery blood clots are a killer. My grandmother died from them and my dad almost did.

He had 3 heart attacks while in recovery, that's pretty wild and won't do anything to alleviate my medical procedure anxiety.

I have a feeling you’ve treated hour body much better than he did.  The substance abuse with him was pretty terrifying.  Im sure that didn’t help his cause.

What is it about the [professional] wrestling community/culture that causes them to be so unhealthy? Serious question. Steroids? Other drugs/alcohol? All of the above? Physical injury leading to opioid dependency? Something else?

It's a combination of all of that. They are all on 'roids, they all take pain pills regularly, and they live a constant cycle of kicking the crap out of each other and then partying afterward, and then traveling to the next city to do it all over again.

Have you watched The Wrestler before (with Micky Rourke)?  Kind of shows the crap life and how bad off their bodies are post wrestling career (obviously a dramatization)

Scott Hall had a MASSIVE impact on the business and did a lot of his early work in KC. RIP!

The list of pro wrestling performers meeting untimely deaths is unfortunately very, very long.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Oh man. This one hits hard. Took the kids to see them last year and I’ve seen them a couple times. Great show. Poor Dave. They were best buds. Going through this again has to be awful.

Damn RIP Taylor Hawkins.   I saw Foo Fighters last year and one of the highlights of the show was when Dave went back to play drums and Taylor took over vocals on a really good cover version of Somebody to Love by Queen.

I loved Taylor Hawkins, this one is really sad. My brother and I drove up from MHK to council bluffs to see FF when we were in college, on the front rail for the whole show. He was awesome.

Scott Hall was my #1 favorite wrestler too :(
:adios:

I'm assuming that was the Schefter thread about Dwayne Haskins. Add it to whatever thread we were discussing Schefter being a piece of crap.

I wish the media, paid to cover these athletes, wouldn't contribute to the dehumanization of these men and women.

Gilbert’s podcast interview with Bob Costas is one of my favorite listening experiences.
