Not allowed to install our own washer/dryer in my building.  Can I bring a load of shirts with me up to basketball games and throw them in there to get steamed while I'm 17'n?

Maybe, but I like outsourcing things I'm not good at.

I have this:

http://www.jiffysteamer.com/Products/modelDetails.asp?productId=9&steamerCatId=2&basemodelId=2

It works really well.  However when your collar starts to curl up or the button seems start to curl, you will have to resort to the iron.

EDIT:  Like SF said, do not go cheap.  This guy is pretty expensive but I got it as a wedding gift.  I use it at least 3 days a week.

This is the one I have   Works great.

I'd say it probably is a good deal.   Jiffy's website says it starts at $200+

http://www.jiffysteamer.com/Products/modelDetails.asp?productId=39&steamerCatId=2&basemodelId=8

Comes with the basic attachment...but there is a plethora of additional attachments if desired.

That's what I wasn't sure of.  I don't know what attachments are elite or necessary.  Seems the steamboard is critical.  :dunno:

Is that costco cheap version a skeleton that by the time I add the necessaries, it will be as much as buying a package from jiffy?

I just use the standard plastic steam head that came with it.  Haven't really felt the need for additional attachments.  Thats just me though.

don't you think you'll get good (and fast) at ironing after you do it a few times?  or is ironing ability just a gift that some are born with?

Ironing gets old after awhile.  I used to do it all the time, so much that my roommates in college bought me an extreme ironing calendar for Christmas (google image "extreme ironing").  Steaming is faster, and takes up less floor space.

wear sweaters every day

Won't work for when I have to wear standard suit/shirt/tie.

Lebron wears a turtleneck sweater under a suit all the time.

Bought the steamboard and used it once. After using the steamer for a while you wil realize there isn't really a need for the board and it just takes up space.

Not at basketball or getting/retaining endorsement deals*, but at lawyering and goEMAW modding.  We probably both suck at unwrinkling shirts compared to women or jiffy owners.

I have the the little purple shark.  It works ok but not great.  If you're willing to put 200 into it, then go with their thing.

Followup: is the jiffy good enough to work on pants and I could just toss the iron?  I may be willing to spend the 200 if so
