I used to always try and get cute girls to study with me.  They never wanted to. :(

there are people at my office that will do study groups and even have conference calls set up to study together with other people in other office for licensing exams and crap. it boggles my mind. how the hell does that help you? read the entire exam book the day before the test like an adult you freaks.

I've had some people that wanted to study with me before. They wanted us to "quiz each other." I said yeah or we could just quiz ourselves silently in our brains like grown ups.

Study groups are a hallmark of stupid people.  Nobody that is an intellectual elite has anything to do with them.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

I agree. You know what I don't need when I'm studying? Other people. GMAFB.

Back in med school, I would do experiments like experiencing clinical death for 1 minute and then having my study group bring me back.  I would always say things like "Today is a good day to die."

Agree.  Was in the library on monday night getting ready for some tests when a guy comes up to me. He was from one of my classes and invited me over to their study group.   It was miserable.  I left as soon as possible.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Study groups only work if you absolutely hate the people you are with and are actually motivated to get something done so that you can get the eff out of there.

Similar to group projects.  My method was split everything up evenly then put the smartest person in charge of putting it together so it makes sense and also he fixes the Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) person's section.

getting pretty OT here but another thing I absolutely hate is role playing.

some bad person: ok, I'm going to pretend like I'm so and so and you ask me questions or whatever.
me: nope

also OT but, like, at company wide events where you have to be active and do childish bullshit to team build or learn crap. like, here is this puzzle that your table has to put together to learn the new six sigma stuff then you each take a position around the table and tell the room what your role in the process is or whatever and then you each get a snack from the snack table!

OR HOW ABOUT I JUST READ ABOUT IT YOU FUCKWAD!

Seriously? You don't love it when some complete idiot has to role play. To me, that makes it worth it.

Our dumbass ex military program managers would do "red teaming" ahead of every recompete. We just used it as an excuse to unload about every stupid thing they ever did.

PM: We're really optimistic this new tool will blah blah
Me/RT: It sounds like you're overly focused on work hours instead of work performance and like maybe you aren't keeping the coffee machine properly stocked.

Glad I work at a place that offers a retreat for teambuilding.  I think when you have people that do that, they know how completely stupid it is.

there are times when study groups could be beneficial.

I loved having study groups, but then again, I usually learned the material on my own time before the group met. The study group was just a convenient way to reinforce that learning and then head to the bars.

1. when you didnt go to class and dont have the notes where the teacher said exactly what would be on the test but other people do.

 It worked yesterday. time will tell for today

Getting back OnT, pulled allnighters on consecutive days this week with a two hour nap between the two.   I was so nervous about finals i couldn't sleep if i tried anyway.  The one test I've gotten back so far seemed to have been successful.

At least when you're calling me when I'm 35 to ask if I want my 4 year old daughter to have premium life insurance I won't be able to point to your poor study habits in college?
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.
