Arkansas Fan here with some early analysis:

-Slowing us down on offense - No disrespect, but if your name isn't Alabama or LSU ,you won't show us any level of skill we haven't seen before.

Thanks for being a good Arkansas poster and understanding this thread.

To this point, it's been really surprising to me this year, how good at just being in the right position our CB's and LB's have been. They aren't the most athletic group, but have done a pretty good job of being in the right place at the right time. I think this should come into play some and I wouldn't be surprised if Wilson throws a couple picks.

Also, our way of slowing offenses down, is usually to keep them off of the field as much as possible. Not many quick scores, especially since Lockett has been out.

I agree with _fan though that you guys compare pretty well to OK State.

Mercy!  That was a phenomenal run.  What?  6-7 defenders missed tackles
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&NR=1&v=byPjkmgUcWg young man can run

Hogs never give up on a play.

Young man is a BEAST when it comes to hitting QBs

All in all, if KS can control/handle the 8 players that made the all SEC team, it could be interesting.  If KS gives any room to run, or doesn't protect their QB, it will only be interesting to see howhow the score is ran up.

What about this one:

There was controversy on whether punt returner signaled fair catch, or was shielding his eyes from sun.
I don't know, I did not get to watch the game--and sometimes you have to put plays in context.

Obviously the ref felt fair catch had been signaled.  And Marquel was ejected from game.  Do I think it was intentionally bad sportsmanship?  No, I can see where Marquel could have thought he had the right to tackle the punt returner.  It was a damned hard hit.  And I'm glad that the opposing player was not injured.

Isn't the real problem that he Polomalu'd () the returner?

Little different, I believe.  But, it's all a matter of perspective and opinion.  I believe that sometimes crap happens, and depending on which side you're on determines whether you feel it was an inadvertent "bad" hit, or intentional.

Did the returner signal fair catch, or was he shielding his eyes from the sun?  Please be objective in your assessment, because it does make a difference.

I don't know if it matters if he was shielding his eyes or calling for a fair catch. The rules state that if the player raises his hands above his shoulder pads, its a fair catch. At that point, if he tries to advance the ball, the onus is on the refs to penalize the returner for trying to advance the ball after calling for a fair catch.

Also as Cire said, the Arky player lowered his head, putting his helmet straight into the returner's.

The returner never caught the ball, doesn't matter whether it was a fair catch or not.

Sorry for derailing your thread _fan. I'd love to see a fan frames of Arkansas defending the QB run game

Ahhhh...bless your heart!

Not trolling.  I happen to be a female.  I happen to like football, and I LOVE Razorback football.

Let's face it.  Sometimes, every team may have a bad tackle.  If it's a consistent issue with either one player or the team as a whole then the team plays "dirty".
One "dirty" hit doesn't mean that's what is taught.  Sometimes, it means a young player forgot what the hell he'd been taught--and got too excited, and didn't pay attention.

He may indeed be a very nice young man and a great student athlete. However, in this instance he made a "dirty" play. It is what it is. But what do i know, i'm just a poster on a "web"site.

False, he didn't "forget what he was taught."  It was clearly a cheap shot with intent to injure.  It is never okay to hit the punt returner before the ball gets there, and if it happens that blatantly, it is not an accident.  Dirty hit, dirty player, probably a bad person a.k.a. sh1t human being.

Meh, I would guess he didn't expect the player to be running up towards him.  He had too much speed going and knew he was going to hit him so, in the moment, decided to just lay him out.  It was murder, but not premeditated murder

Someone in that thread, in reference to K-State, said "Yankees are weird."

Here's a question: Will our black players have protection the whole time they are in Dallas and around Arkansas fans? If someone has connections to the team, they should warn them about all this.
