well i'm somewhat sure that none of that crap matters/mattered and that if ksu cats won and osu won that it's ksu cats to the sugar bowl, but i guess we'll see. far from 100%.

So wait is Houston still eligible for the BCS? I was just reading the selection rules and I'm now extremely confused.

If they stay top 14, they could theoretically get an at large.

no, they are not an AQ conference team.  They are done.

We will move up to #5 in the Computer polls and a minimum of #12 with a potential of #10 in the human polls. This could push us over Oregon or Boise (#9 & #10 in computers), and I don't think Sparty or Wisc will gain enough in the computers to pass us in the BCS. In other words, I think we'll be #8 in the next rankings...

Current Computer Avgs:
1   LSU
2   Alabama
3   Oklahoma State
4   Stanford
5   Oklahoma
6   Arkansas
6   Kansas State

We will pass the following 3 loss teams in the Human Polls:
(Harris/USA Today)
#12/14 Georgia - 3 losses
#10/11 Oklahoma - 3 losses
#13/12 Wisky or #11/9 Sparty - either with 3 losses

Teams we might pass:
#6 Houston - exposed 1 loss posers
#4/3 Va Tech - worst SOS ever, but unlikely we pass

thanks, theprideofwildcatland

Not that it matters because they won't be picked, but all you have to do to be an at-large is be top 14 with 9 wins.  Hence the theoretically possible to be an at-large.

But they're not DQ'd are they? This is what I was confused about. Obviously nobody wants a loser smoke and mirrors Conf USA team tho.

Does it matter if we are #8, though? I could easily see a BCS bowl taking Virginia Tech over us.

No being #8 doesn't matter.  We'd have to go all the way to 4 to get an autobid (assuming OSU is #3).

At this point things that really matter:

Does Michigan move into the top 14 making them a eligible

Does TCU get to 16 making them an automatic qualifier.

I think TCU only gets to 17 unless Wisconsin loses. It also appears that Baylor, with their ridic computer rankings, will jump Michigan and stop them at 15.

It's looking more and more like K-State is going to the Sugar Bowl, which actually kinda blows for me because Cotton's the only one I can make it to.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Should be.  Their best win is home UCLA.

Also, MSU's loss will slightly ding Michigan's computer numbers. More significanty, Baylor's thumping today has to get them ahead of Michigan. I don't see how they make the top 14. I also think this guarantees KSU the Sugar Bowl unless TCU somehow got to 16 and the Sugar Bowl wanted both TCU and Boise State.

Sugar Bowl... Trying to get my head around this.

No way the Sugar takes TCU over us. They can't even fill up their tiny stadium, what makes anyone think they'd travel worth a damn?

Who will we play? I'm hoping for Stanford at this point. I would rather have Alabama, but I can't see a scenario where we would play them.

TCU gets an auto-bid if they move into the top 16 because they won their conference and the Big East is so shitty.

Alabama would deliver fantastic ratings and they would be completely disheartened if they missed out on the title game. What's not to like? It's not like bowl wins actually matter or anything.

heard sugar was more than possible with ksu and osu win and i am sticking to it and nobody is talking me out of it.

But if OSU jumps Bama, Sugar's going to take them.

I mean, we may end up in the Sugar against Bama, but yeesh.

Would not take.  (need a funny kornheiser here)

TCU at 16 would be an autobirth because they're a conference champion ahead of a BCS league champ.  Houston in top 14 could happen(but won't) because all you have to do to be an at large pick is be top 14 and win 9 games, regardless of conference.

I'd take a Cotton Bowl win over a 49-10 loss to 'Bama any day

Eh, Arkansas is gonna be in Dallas.  I'd rather get blown out in a BCS bowl than get blown out in the Cotton Bowl.

Know what is ridiculous in this whole thing? That the conference that could be the best in the country probably won't have its 1 loss champ in the BCS championship game and its 2 loss runner-up is about 50/50 to even get into a BCS bowl
