Aside from 6th street and UT's campus, I found Austin to be just disgusting.

Aside from 6th street, Austin is like if Lawrence and Topeka were merged.

If Lawrence and Topeka had numerous high rise condo buildings, amazing weather, an awesome entertainment district, an elite lake, and a beautiful campus/stadium (filled with beautiful non-poor people) then you would be right, but neither of them has any of those things.  Overall, Austin is an incredibly elite place that is home to an incredibly elite university.
