What game plan do you suggest?
I'm not the old [redacted] whos getting 2M/yr to put a quality product on the field and to surround himself with people who aren't idiots. _FAN, I am not an x's and O's guy but for eff's sake - isn't there a plan B? isn't there an adjustment to be made? If your QB is pissing down his homeschooled leg, shouldn't you try something different?
I am just a guy who loves his team and I am unwilling to accept this RIDICULOUS performance. I'm not that guy who throws the "I told you so's" out there, but this SHlT has to stop! There was no answer for the second half and we were able to keep up with them in the first - no adjustments and THAT'S what these assholes are paid to rough ridin' do!!!
Our defensive line got absolutely dominated today and we couldn't block OU's defensive ends.
Honestly there aren't a ton of adjustments defensively we could've made and that's where the main adjustments needed to be made. Our defensive plan obviously assumed we'd see the Landry Jones that we've seen the last couple weeks; a guy who didn't consistently make throws and made plenty of mistakes. We thought we could make them drive the ball with throws and stop the run, and up until late in the 3rd quarter OU had less than 50 yards rushing, its just that we didn't stop the pass at all. We got the two mistakes in the first half (also pretty good plays by Malone), but we tried to play zone behind, mainly cover 2, and we thought we could get pressure from our front 4 and we got absolutely NONE. The only adjustment would be play man defense and try to blitz and that is not something we are going to see. We got OU's offense playing their best football and that made it extremely tough.
That said, it was an embarrassing performance in the 2nd half and the offense was bad too, but the last 30 minutes (outside of the EKU game maybe) is the only terrible football of the year. Granted, it was really, really bad, but overall this season has still been a great success, its just that the worst is pretty fresh in our minds.
