As long as we can run well enough to force OU to bring an extra defender into the box, we will be able to pass somewhat effectively. I think this will happen. If OU can stop the run with only 7 players, we will not only lose, but I think it will get ugly.

1999 has the "Haven't been X-0 since..." locked down for a few weeks.
We're are going to get crap stomped and then will have to endure all the talk about how we're overrated and a fluke etc.....
Stoops is incredible after a loss because he never loses at home, thus making it nearly impossible to lose 2 straight. Until now

in the end, EMAW will always win.

It's amazing to think how much that OU has been put on a pedestal this season. WOW, I mean WOW congrats guys on beating a 3 loss Florida State team by 10, they're not even the best team in the state of Florida! Look, I'm not buying any of this OU blowout crap, they got outplayed and out coached by a better Texas Tech team. I watched the same game everyone else did. In all seriousness, at the end of the year OU might finish 5th in this conference behind K-State, OSU, A&M and Tech. If OU gets outplayed at home and lose to the same team we beat by 10 in Lubbock, why all of a sudden does that equate to a 20 point blowout loss by K-State in Manhattan? Seriously some of us need a reality check. We're good, OU is good but not great, this will be close on Saturday and I think our guys are prepared and focused and will win behind the great leadership of the The Chamber. Also, OU let KU hang around for a half and didn't exactly destroy MU (and got down early). This is a good team, but clearly not the preseaon #1 they were made out to be. Very beatable and its not like anything they do will be a surprise. We've played spread, fast paced offenses and their defense is solid, but we can move the ball. I was actually surprised that their return game wasn't better, ours isn't only better, its a lot better.

FWIW, I live with BigDcat and this little Texan has never been more excited for a game. He may try and act tough on this bbs, but in real life, he's super optimistic.

Quote from: doom on October 27, 2011, 10:56:23 AMI think a passing qb is the only thing that can really gash OU's defense. We aint got one. We'll lose by quite a bit. Saying that we beat Tech @ and Tech beat Ou @, therefore, we dominate ou is pretty errant. Tech matches up better, ou slept. I agree the Tech comparison has flaws because we are such different teams, but there is no evidence to think we simply can't run on OU. OU's rush defense is solid, but not dominant. Plus, they haven't faced many teams that commit to running the football and none that run the variety of option and power football that we do. They may stop us, but there is nothing going in that indicates to me that OU will be able to completely shut down our running game. Nothing.
