LOL at this French women vs Italian Women debate. Spanish women are better than both.

 :dubious:

i wonder what he means by better?  i bet it isn't what i mean when i think of better.

FUN FACT: Spaniards (at least the cool ones I know) refer to bewbs as "tapas".

Only one of the things that makes them better.

have some dece (one great) tips for rome.

Can I hear them (it)?

Going to Spoleto/Umbria for a wedding a couple of weeks. Spending two or three days in Rome on the way in/out.

My list of must does is pretty small and consists of seeing the Carravagios at the Borghese Museum and doing the Spanish Steps.

I'm sure we'll see the Colosseum and Pantheon, etc. What else can't I miss?

Man I have never seen this thread. What a treat. Lots of "German cars and Italian food, not the other way around" type gems in here.

Go to Rio instead.

If this is just a roundabout way to talk marinara,

There were some good marinara stories to come out of the trip.  Good material for our next pak.

We did Paris-Rome-San Gimignano-Florence-Venice.  All were amazing.  We stayed in Florence three days.  Could have spent less time there.  Only got two days/one night in Venice and wish we had more, but glad we squeezed it in.  Food was obviously incredible.

It seems no one eats breakfast, just coffee/cappuccino, then a ridiculous lunch with multiple courses, and then a ridiculous dinner around 8 or 9 that goes until midnight or later.  Lots of really good, cheap wine.

Thanks to all for the helpful info.

It is possible to do Rome in a day trip. Trains are fairly easy, don't believe anything people who are just "trying to help you" say at the train station. Burano was awesome, so was Florence, and Milan. Orvieto was probably my favorite place there. If you get a chance to check it out the country side in northeast italy is incredible. Lugano was also pretty cool.

Anyone happen to have been to the Parco dei Mostri?

http://www.parcodeimostri.com/eng/storia.asp

Kind of intrigued. Seems like it might be a pretty quaint little stop during a road trip from Rome to Spoleto.

Any Rome/Central Italy travel tips are greatly appreciated, thanks y'all!

Although Mrs. JW had a horrible hamover because of it, we had the most spectacular meat tray in San G.  Literally makes me  thinking about it.  Will post pics asap.

So, is that the appetizer or the meal.

Neither really.  This was an early evening snack.  We had a smaller dinner that night though because of this thing.

that looks like tator tots with cheese

There's no way that if it's not tater tots with cheese that it's any better than tater tots with cheese.
