I would now like to discuss scary movies
« on: October 25, 2011, 11:09:56 AM »
I do not like them. Nightmare on Elm Street really did a number on me. Probably not a good movie to watch when you are 5.

Does anyone else have any scary movies to add? I would love to hear about them.  :D

people who get off on, like, super gorey movies should probably be locked up for the animal cruelty and other crimes they inevitably commit/will commit.

Odishon and I was pretty much done with this genre.  Stared in to the abyss and it stared back kind of thing for me.

Hate losers who go to scary movies and then laugh the whole time to show how tough they are.

HATE scary movies with gore/monsters and ghosts and stuff

Kinda like scary movies where you don't ever see bad guy (like the paranormal activity movies)

Love Scooby Doo or Ernest scary movies.

This, I hate when they just through a bunch of gore/disgustingness in a movie and label it scary/horror.  Thriller scary movies are the best, like the paranormal series and the fourth kind are the best.

Damion the Omen and other such religious ones used to freak me the eff out when I was little.  I'd be pouring through the book of Revalations saying "Holy crap, it's really in there!"

Love scary movies. Not Saw/torture porn movies. Agree with SD on that one.

holy moses.  this movie scarred me for a long time.

nightmare on elm street is in my top 5.

i'm a big fan of the original halloween and the exorcist scares the crap out of me.  alien is an undeerrated scary movie.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Saw the uncut exorcist when I was way too young.  Not a good movie to watch if you are a young Catholic.  Went to sleep with a rosary and the radio on for years because it scared me so bad.  Haven't seen it since nor do I care to.  Some really messed up scenes in that one.  Amen.

Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Other scary movies:

The People Under the Stairs
The Hills Have Eyes

I told my wife I was terrified of the Dark Crystal and now she wakes me up every morning two inches from my face with the scary Dark crystal monster voice saying she's eating my soul.

Kind of a rough patch.

Haven't ever really been scared by movies.  Just the parts that startle you, like where something jumps or makes a loud noise.
Invited a girl over to watch the grudge once, and we paused it so she could go to the bathroom. I turned out all the lights and hid behind a pillar.  When she came out of the bathroom and past the pillar I made the grudge noise and made her cry.  It was pretty fun.  Dated her for another month or so.

Remember "Tales from the Dark Side"?

"Man lives in a sunlit world which he believes is reality..."

This episode creeped me the eff out when I was a kid. So dark.
