Kroger is beyond building a monster. Harris Teeter fell to them a couple of years ago, too.

Mine is three hours away in Leavenworth. The Baker's in Omaha aren't as elite as Dillon's.

That's what my feeling is as well. I wasn't sure if it was just from getting older and the wonder of Dillon's had worn off. Hyvee's here are elite AF tho.

The hyvee on 79th and state line has the main grocery store in KS and another Hyvee building across the street in MO dedicated to booze.

Wal-Mart tries to take down Dillon's and gets its ass kicked.

http://www.kcci.com/news/walmart-says-its-closing-154-stores-in-usa/37454210

For those unfamiliar, these Wal-Mart Marketplaces in Wichita were all opened less than five years ago and they opened them all across the street from a Dillion's.
I'm surprised they're closing the one at 13th and Oliver, the Dillons down the street  closed about a year ago, so that was really the only player in the area.  T&P to WSU TSC friends and the fresh food desert they now live in.

My understanding is that the Neighborhood Market thing was an experiment and they are now closing all of them.

They're definitely not closing all of them, not even all of them in Wichita. It looks like the one on Seneca and 31st St. S is staying open.

Sonntag, is the Dillons on 13th and Woodlawn still open?
Neg, closed.  So yeah if you are a WSU student/resident from that area, you're looking at the Delano Dillons by East, the Bel Aire Dillons, or the Rock & 21st Dillons for Groceries.

College Hill, not Delano.

I need to work on forgetting all that.

Dillions salad bar is better than HyVee's, but everything else HyVee has the market dominated compared to Dillions
