Why does the new Dillons kick ass?

Was in EMAWland this weekend. Went to Dillons. Definitely looks more sophisticated and not rundown Food4Lessy. Also got snagged a deal on KC strips. "Normally" priced to $50 marked down to $18. I think it was $3.99/lb

New Dillons in Topeka as well.  Where the old Venture used to be.  They have a sushi bar.  Also I thought the floors looked nice/pretty.

We live closer to Dillons at 29th and Urish, plus they have a better olive bar.

Hy-Vee's lines aren't near as long and have better service w/ deli and meat dept and all that, Dillons you usually have to wait.

Salad bar is still kind of crap. Cheesemonger is good, bulk section for grains and candy and stuff is nice. Bigger produce section

terrible news about the shitty salad bar.  you can really judge a store by the time/effort they put into their salad bar.

Salad bar faves: cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs (sliced, quarted or crumbled), different types of croutons, banana pudding w/ real bananas and 'nilla wafers, and generic pasta dishes.

The selection of foreign food thingies in the Dillons at 9th and Magnolia is amazing.

Is this a totally new location or just a revamp of the one across Tuttle from Hyvee? Haven't heard anything about this. BTW where does the new Ray's A.M. fit into the spectrum? Never been in there (old or new).

the dillons over by where putt putt and skate plaza used to be apparently closed for a while and then just reopened. why even bother i asked. nobody missed you when you were gone. except for maybe the timbercreek people and all of the rest of the people people that live in wheaton/onaga.
