I think saying we will not allow student athletes to appear on social media in uniform while actively plastering student athletes in uniform all over social media is really stupid and hypocritical.

If I were to give him the benefit of the doubt I'd say he meant to discuss players endorsing product in uniform and he just got his thoughts jumbled but that's not what this video was. He, as an athletic director of a power 5 program, shouldn't be conflating NIL talking points when discussing some dudes just being college kids on twitter.

I'm a certified Gene Hater and I didn't really have a problem with his answer tbh. I think you get into some potentially dangerous territory if athletes are in uniform and doing social media stuff for profit. I don't think a general policy of "don't do social media stuff in K-State uniform" is a very controversial policy.

And I assumed he was discussing it because he was asked directly about it, but I haven't listened to the question, just the snippet of his answer.

Anyway, I don't like Gene but I can't get my feathers ruffled up about this.
