Do I feel too confident?
« on: October 11, 2011, 02:37:58 PM »
TT has a shitty run defense. I don't really feel worried about this game. Am I missing something, or are they going to exploit our safeties all game?

I was feeling all  :excited: about the prospects of a 7-0 meeting with Oklahoma, until I realized that underestimating tech could be deadly.

It seems like as a team they are underrated, but we match up really well against them, so we shouldn't be too worried.

I think we're all waiting for the KITN, however the match up with Tech is very nice. I thought they looked pretty shitty vs KU!

Their passing O > our running O.  Tech can throw for yards faster than the 'Cats can run for yards.  This is a cause for concern, and should temper any overconfidence.

I've thought we would lose the last 3 games, no sense in changing that now.

If our D can manage a few stops and not get bombed over the top like we allowed to Baylor we should win this game...but that isn't  Tech's offense. They like to throw shorter our routes and slants to convert. Their 3rd down percentage isn't too bad either.

Doege threw 66 attempts vs. A&M. That' nuts. We have to put some pressure on hiim because if you let him make 2 or 3 reads someone is going to be wide open.

I'm nervous to see how our offense does in a hostile environment (Miami does not count as a hostile environment).  We burn so many timeouts because of our audibles and barely snap the ball with one second left on the playclock at home, I have to imagine we are going to have even more issues with that in a loud atmosphere.  I'm expecting the "check with me" audibles will cause a handful of delay of games and false starts this weekend.

Bad things happen to us in in Lubbock.  I am more worried about the KITN outcome as opposed to a Dr. McSchemey outcome.

this applies to most teams, though it doesn't mean they have better offenses than ksu.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

yeah our offense is designed to keep other offenses from being on the field.

'Cats are like 3 - 10 against Tech all-time, and we have not won in Lubbock since 1997.  Just sayin'. :ohno:

Mike Leach isn't walking through that door.

You guys are new to K-State football aren't you?  Snyder teams always take the clock down to 1 regardless of audibles or check with mes.  It's what he does and it is to control the clock.  No matter how loud or often the crowed counts down it will always be like that with a LHC Bill Snyder team.  Shouldn't be a problem IMO.

I feel like we roll in this game. Feel like I'm missing something. Course, like someone said before, felt like we were gonna lose the last 3, hope this time I'm right.

Things I worry about in Lubbock:
History..how many facepalm   games have I watched on TV from Lubbock.
The dink and dunk jet offense... we struggle against this and I am surprised teams havent made more use of it against us and tech is quite good at it. They may try and go deep on us a few times too but it the slant bubble screen etc type of plays that has me concerned.
WHile they have been bad against the run they really havent played a team that is all run and so they will counter-scheme against the sceheme doctor for it. Its imperative in every game that our team be able to move the ball slowly on O. More than a couple 3 and outs and we lose this one.
Cockiness/KITN... we are KSU fans, when the team is playing well we always expect this, in fact I would soooo enjoy a 42-0 butt whoopin of Tech this game. The mU game was more enjoyable to watch than BU for sure so theres that.
All that said if we play our game make no mistakes control the game etc we can and should win in Lubbock. I beleive!!! GO CATS!!!

I'm concerned that our offense hasn't been forced to play from behind by more than 7 points..and if Tech gets a lead late...our slow motion offense is in real trouble.  :frown:

Behind by 9 late 4th quarter against Baylor.
