Would kill a hobo for that type of schedule now.
You really have no idea how easy it would be for me to set this crap up for you.

Thanks for confirming that the Big 12 was actually pretty dam good in the late 90's Ira.

Yeah.  The Big XII was dam good.  We won 21 regular season conference games in a row and the highest ranked team we faced was 16th.

Would kill a hobo for that type of schedule now.

eat sh*t

Face the facts instead of throwing insults.  When we get stomped by OU and OSU in a few weeks and people start ripping on this team , Cosh, Snyder etc., they need to understand that those teams in the late '90s didn't face anything like this.  Not even close.

I only started this argument for the benefit of the team we have right now.

You are wrong again.

Texas A&M was ranked 14th when we beat them in 97.
Colorado was ranked 14th when we beat them in 98.
Nebraska was ranked 11th when we beat them in 98.
Texas was ranked 15th when we beat them in 99.

So there are four games in that stretch that were higher than 16th, dumbass.

Dax set the standard as end of the year AP poll.  I'm playing with his rules.

But as you point out, none of those teams were top 10 even when we played them.  We will soon face 3 teams that are currently in the top 10.  As well as a fourth team (A&M) that spent time in the top 10 this season.

Is this year an outlier? I have a super poor memory.

How is our upcoming schedule relevant to the debate?  You started out saying that the Big 12 sucked as bad in the late 90's as the Pac 12 sucks now.  Well as Dax pointed out, the Big 12 finished with 5 ranked teams at the end of 1997 and 1998.  Then four ranked at the end of 1999.  Compare that with the current Pac 12.  Last year they finished the season with only 2 ranked teams and right now have three.  Those stats prove you wrong.  The Big 12 did not suck in those years, despite the fact it is even stronger now.
