nobody in america could have defended that pass/catch
Griffin might not have thrown that pass if Hartman hadn't been burned so badly, though.
right/ because Griffin doesn't trust Wright to come up w/ a big catch. Griffin recognized the blitz and saw man coverage on one of the best receivers in the conference so he threw it up and the Wright made an incredible catch. to blame that TD on Hartman is rough ridin' dumb.
When Wright dove to make that catch his feet were in the middle of the "E" in the endzone. Hartmans back foot was outside the endzone and he was just making his first step in. Griffin overthrew it, causing Wright to have to make an amazing diving catch. If Griffin throws that ball 3 yards shorter Wright makes the catch in the middle of the endzone jogging backwards while Hartman chases him from 4 yards behind. Griffin's overthrow and Wright's amazing catch doesn't take away the fact that Hartman still got burned.
Hartman getting burned and Griffin/Wrights pass and catch are independent of each other. Just like Hartman's shitty coverage in the Miami game where he got burned and the receiver was two yards behind him. If Harris doesn't make a shitty pass and overthrow him, we would have lost that game 31-28. Hartman still got burned and he had absolutely nothing to do with the receiver he was covering not making the catch.
Maybe we were playing the underneath/slant/quick routes or whatever? Didn't someone say that they were killing us with those in the first half (which is why we blew up their final play)?
But Hartman does seem to suck. We seem to be good at finding safeties who are just good enough to get attention early in their careers but then end up sucking. That seems like a trend. Maybe it's not.
The trend is they are just good enough to get attention early, then screw up their leg, then we keep playing them after their injuries are border line career threatening. They are injured enough to where they are much less effective, but not enough to where it ends their career. If I were Tysyn Hartman or Marcus Watts I would spend my nights

wondering what could have been. As a fan I'm just pissed we don't have anyone good enough to overtake Hartman, not Hartman himself. Very few people can come back from what happened to him. That defiantly kills him in coverage, however it doesn't excuse him from bad plays like not cutting back on BU's second touchdown and just standing there watching the WR run by him on what should have been the game winner in Miami. Him being out there and put in a position to where he has to cover Wright 1-on-1 makes me still believe Cosh is still a respect. We burn Timeouts all the time on offensive when we don't like the matchups and can't audible in time, maybe we should on defense when a guy that runs a 5.5 40 has to cover Wright 1-on-1.
Hartman shouldn't be covering Wright, at all. But to say that TD was not Hartman's fault because of a great catch is also BS. He got burned. Using bad coaching as an excuse for Hartman not to be able to execute his responsibility is also BS. If you can't do your responsibility, that's fine, but later in the game when you make a big hit on someone that's already wrapped up, don't hop up and pump your fist like you just saved the world either.
