My main problem with Cosh is that he doesn't seem to be good at making adjustments to his gameplan. He can definitely put some decent gameplans together sometimes, as long as the other coaches don't find a weakness with them. The problem is, there usually is one, and he seems to freeze up and stay the course rather than be proactive. See: the massive pass bombs in the 2nd half today. The goal line stand was great, but it was consistent with Cosh's full gameplan: put 8 in the box and make Jacory Harris crap his pants. Overall that plan is generally a good idea, but it's still susceptible to double moves and long passes.
But yeah, I will admit that Cosh isn't as bad as I was yelling last year.I do think that a lot of last year's problems were depth/talent issues that Cosh couldn't really help, although his schemes didn't really make things any better for them. It was like putting a couple of logs into an already raging dumpster fire. I mean, he's not some sort of savior exposing the haters like jt is trying to troll everyone with, but I think he's good enough to help pull us out wins against aggy or mizzou if things go right. OU and OSU will expose us, and badly, but that's bound to happen regardless of who our DC is. I think our main and clear weakness at this point is Special Teams, not Cosh. All of our games except the two Oklahoma schools should be competitive, which is more than we probably could've said last year.
I'm at the point where I'd still like him gone if we could find someone who can actually make decent adjustments, but if not, I suppose we can do worse (which I wasn't willing to say last year). And Sean better not be on the goddamn plane back home.
