I asked my buddy who was in law enforcement for 20 years for a recommendation on a gun for personal protection and he told me get a dog.

Sarcasm aside, I agree. My wife has a dog that is small that sucks and is noisy and barky and generally the weakest most scared dog I've ever met in my life, but for real the most likely thing to save our lives if someone tried to break in.

I know it's ok, and I like them some. There's a very high bar set for the upper limit of what being a "gun guy" is. I'm on the extreme low level because I'm not interested enough. I know next to nothing about guns except the ones I own (4 total with 2 owned less than 3 months).

I just prefer to be up front about my inexperience. That could change, who knows. I think it's more likely I get caught up into collecting more than anything. Similar to how some people get with guitars, audio equipment, tattoos, etc.

yeah, i know some legit gun guys and four guns doesn't even enter the conversation. hell, i own four guns myself.

also, counting up my guns, just helped me remember that i have to limit my earlier "one bullet, one dead animal" fanningbrag to adult shooting only or it's not accurate.
