Rubes is definitely the nickname of choice. Trying to stick to Ruby till she gets her name figured out. I will be doing some pre training for a few weeks, then sending her to a buddy's house to get her schooling. I got her from a guy that runs a guide service south of KC who's dog had more pups in her litter than what he wanted to keep.

I would call scout "scrot" as in "scrotum" rofl

Just kidding, I wouldn't do that

We have a 3 year old Rat Terrier named Libby (who is now insanely jealous). 90% of the time I call her "Libbs."

that highlights his athleticism and intelligence, not to mention his determination and commitment to excellence.

why is your wife getting her own bird dog, do you guys not hunt together?

We do. But she wants to work a dog as well. Our dog now sees me as the Alpha.

Very cool. Will you be running her in trials (AKC/NAVHDA) or just hunting over her?

I want to give Ruby ear scratches.

Dexter tried to stab me in the eye ball with his front paw this morning. Quite the alarm clock that one is.

That's a good exacto knife job you did to cut out a slot in your catcave's log cabin wallpaper for the electrical outlet.

Normally the "rain" here is just mist that has no effect on anyone except making the already crap drivers shittier.  But it's been real rain since mid-day yesterday.  I've learned Payton hates being out in it, yet hates more staying under an umbrella that would keep her out of the rain.  It looks like her plan is to take a 3-day break from crap'n.

Yeah, mine won't crap in the rain. It can be very frustrating rolling the dice and leaving for work when she hasn't crapped

I think if it comes to a head, she'll do it.  She's been OK running out there and pissing relatively quickly and sprinting back to the door.

If she wasn't so exclusive about her toilets, she'd be able to go almost under or at least right near and awning on the front of the building where there's a bunch of tree cutouts almost built for dogshit'n I assume, as they have city-provided shitbags and receptacles build in.

Huh.  Investing in all that must be why the 'cave is barren of drafting desks.

Came this way when I bought the house above the cave. Handymanning the upstairs and yard before the cave, but will probably just leave it. Zero drafting desks (tbt ksufans, I think).
