i love throwing stars, had a ton as a young child.  what i don't like about them is their inability to inflict any serious damage.  also, they are limited by distance, wind, etc.

flame thrower is a good one.  again, limited to short distances and can be pretty hairy to handle. 

are there no demolition experts in the house?

I used to blow up crap when I was a kid.  Have a bunch of tannerite in my garage.

Yeah, the flame thrower definitely requires some support, but it's excellent for clearing Charlie out of the brush.

For up close combat, my go-to weapon has always been the neck of a broken beer bottle.  For long distance takeouts, I use a sniper rifle that fires bullets made out of ice.
