Recently found out I am pretty closely related to the people that started Bocker's or whatever it used to be called way back in the day. And that the family also built and sold most of the houses on either Humbolt or Leavenworth street east of the park.
My Grandma (deceased) grew up in one of the houses. Apparently when she was attending K-State her fiance at the time got ran over at a grocery store on the corner of 16th and Fairchild. There is an old store building there now, but I don't know if the spot where he was actually run over was there or somewhere else.
I've often wondered about the little store-front looking buildings on the east side of town. When and how long they were in business, etc.
I like old timey stuff.
Modified meant 1601 Laramie, and that is on the list.
