Author Topic: Is the KKKK SSSS UUUU Wildcats! chant the greatest in sports? (Read 8682 times)

About 2 or 3 times a year I get a little (a lot) selfish and don't participate just so I can really hear what it sounds like.

About 50 percent of the time, I put myself in opposing fans/players shoes and consciously imagine what they must be thinking:

you know what? when we are playing on the road and fff is in attendance, i will usually pick out a home team fan that has been "runnin' his mouth" and keep a mental note of where he is.

when the cats get that touchdown, i will position myself near this fan, and in his/her direction scream "KKKK SSSS UUU...WILDCATS"

It's pretty awesome.

Love when rubes make this comment so I can say "In the late 90s, they always did the U at different speeds as it was kind of a game Willie would play with the crowd. But you wouldn't know that, would you?"

I would be incredibly irritated at the chant if I was an opposing fan, so I guess that counts for something.

I got to campus August 2000, and before that nary a crap was given about the KSU Cats (by me).

This was a pretty great one.

Also, the UK game in '09. Although the game was meaningless, we were like really pissed off at them since we hadn't beat them in the last 3 tries.

I've always wondered what one sounded like, after a monster score, outside the stadium.

When angered up, the chant is elite. It's equally embarassing though when we try it down 20 points at home in the 4th quarter.

I'd take 86,000 yelling "Husker Power" (even though I"m not a huge fan of it) over 40,000 doing K S U wildcats.

Why does stupid thing like chants always have to be the best to you people? You've never been the best.....at anything.
