That's at 119th and ridgeview?  Man, if that place was open while I worked at the doorknob factory, i may have never stopped making doorknobs.

My only complaint on the new QT is the doors don't swing both ways....it's weird to have to pull the door at a QT.

It is the most efficient company in North American history.

This post is strangely fascinating to me. Would you care to elaborate on this doorknob factory?

Gladly.

The year was 2008, the summer of love.  I had just graduated High School.

I got into some legal trouble at the beginning of the Summer (before I had a job), and so my parents were on my ass about getting a job immediately.  I struck out on my first round of applications so I decided to work for a warehouse temp agency.  I got hired immediately and began working in a telecom warehouse that was moving from shawnee mission to southern olathe.  My job there consisted of driving a forklift and shipping the entire contents of a warehouse.  That lasted about a month, and then i was transferred to Ingersol Rand, a giant warehouse just south of 119th and Renner (just west of the Benchmark building).

I began work every day at 6 am.  My job there consisted of taking doorknobs out of one kind of box and putting them in different, newer looking boxes.  I also assembled doorknobs and locks and put them into boxes.  I did that for about a month and a half, then it was off to MHK.

It was a great experience for an 18 year old who needed a kick in the ass.

Guys, QuikTrip parking lots are maybe the most dangerous places on the face of the earth.  I am nearly a victim of vehicular homicide every single time I go there, but I still keep going a bunch.  I am a LOT like the guy in the Hurt Locker who just keeps going back into the crap.

I just assumed 12 yr old Chinese kids made the world's doorknobs. This is incredible stuff here.

I'm convinced every doorknob in the world went through that place.  I must have packed about a billion of those things.  And there were over a hundred of us.

went down there and grabbed a coke zero w/ cherry and vanilla added, and some beef jerky.  then enjoyed the weather outside for a while on one of the patio tables.

Yep, only at the super 21st century QTs .

The small ones don't have the middle kitchen. Good news though, QT is starting to convert all their stores into the 21st century ones.  There's another going up at 37th and rock..

Central Market Dillons down the street too.

My side of town is booming.

Not gonna lie, Casey's General Store has taken over as my new favorite.

Their subs, wow, criminally underrated.

I'm still confused.   Just the latest Gen stores?   What are they doing at 37th and Rock?   Same spot?

Yeah, those pretzels are excellent.

The new QT by my place has personal pan pizzas for $5, haven't had one yet. They also do slices, but hyvee gas station down the road has $1 slices so I'm conflicted
