poll
« on: July 20, 2011, 02:34:50 PM »
A CBS News poll released Monday indicates that two-thirds of Americans say any agreement should include spending reductions and tax hikes, with 28% saying a deal should include only spending cuts and 3% saying it should include only tax increases.

this is all about the elite few not giving up their cash cow in the wake of this recession. In fact, a failing economy only fuels the neo-conservatives into convincing the masses that all taxes would be hurtful to the economy..when in fact, its an absurdly low tax rate which has caused this deficit nightmare. Oh, there is another lie...that we've SPENT our way into this mess, when in actuality, the low tax rates, combined with a stagnant economy (read, no hiring) means the government isn't able to collect as much as it once did.

Our current deficit is a product of the GOP choking off the beast for the last 30 years and now they are going in for the kill. Sad.

Your "low taxes hurts the economy" claim has no merit in fact.  It isn't even logical.  You have yet to support that statement with one shred of evidence, yet you continue to repeat it as if you think that saying it enough times will make it true.

Open questions to Booktard and other Neo-Socialists (i.e., Libs):

How does the raising tax rates help the economy?  Conversely, exactly how does lower tax rates hurt the economy (pls avoid inserting charts purporting a correlation without connection, I make a graph showing a direct correlation between a shitty economy and Butler in the Final 4, but that's obviously nonsense)?

Do you understand that the Bush tax cuts, cut tax rates in all brackets?

Do you know that after tax rates were reduced on the highest brackets (2003) that federal income tax revenues increased rapidly?

Do you think raising the highest marginal  tax rate will help those who don't pay taxes in that bracket, if so how?

Do you think the federal government can only spend what it takes in in revenues?

What Federal Govt. services does the "middle class" currently receive?  Which services would be added or improved if rates were raised?

What exactly does the Federal Govt do well?  What parts of the economy would you prefer under government control?

Obama and others have said small businesses are the "engine of job growth" in this country, why do you always complain about corporations not hiring people if all politicians acknowledge this is not the source of job growth?

Can you actually articulate your argument, or are you limited to the talking points repeated ad nauseum by Bookcat, edn, BMW, and to a lesser extent 06, and cire?

Do you have a point, or do you just hate people more successful than you

Looking forward to having none of these questions answered

People who argue for more taxes don't get it on even the most basic level.  Here's the deal.  I got friends, and those friends own businesses and create products.  Some of those products are necessary, some are luxury, and some are things that are in between (like professional lawn care - your lawn needs it, but it can wait if the money ain't there).

These are the people who are hit with tax increases.  You Obama pajamas can all say, "Well, if they don't make more than blabbity-blah-blah, they won't be hit."  Actually, they will.  Because the people who do get hit lave less disposable income, less money to spend on the goods and services these guys offer.

An old conservative cliche with regard to lower taxes is, "The taxpayer should be able to decide how to spend his own money."  It's that simple, people.
I'm not a psychopath.  I'm a high-functioning sociopath.  Do your research.
