But hey, it really was about bringing down the Mexican Drug Cartels, and what better what to do it than, arming them to the teeth (all the while admitting that they couldn't track the weapons once they crossed back across the border into Mexico). Clearly this "operation" had nothing to do with trying to rewrite domestic gun laws, and isn't a part of this administrations attempt appease the anti gun lobby.
In the real world, this would be one of the largest scandals in U.S. history.
