I once blew clove smoke in a guy's face that cut in front of me in the line to KJ's.

I don't like how the stars are placed.

Didn't want to infringe upon 'Murica's trademark.

Okay to eff with K-State.  We don't have nuclear weapons.

Putting the stars like that makes the stripes appear to cross each other like an X. It's too confederate0 for my taste.

I was at Dillons earlier and there was a septuagenarian wearing one of those white t-shirts with the American flag in the Powercat that came out after 9/11. I had one when I was twelve. That is an old shirt.

The mini football is a delicate touch.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Love the can of start fluid, exposed wires, and random extra parts floating around the floorboard.

NBD, this is very typical for older farm equipment.

Ha, me too! Well, technically ours was a Titan II, which we upgraded to after wearing out our 6600. Now we're running a 9670 STS. It's a little crazy to see how far combines have come in my lifetime.

I'll see if I can find the pictures I took, but there's a guy up at Iowa that takes a Hawkeye themed combine to the tailgates. He gutted the internals though, so when you lift up the access panels, there's TV's and shelves for drinks.

there was a photo of the KSU version that had a TV mounted. you can see the mount on the side panel. this one looks like it has a deck where the bin was and I think they might want a railing before they roll it into town

Grandpa had one of the early 7720's. Legend is that hotshots from John Deere came out to the farm to observe it in action.

Back in the '60's to early '80's combines were common on farms.  Of course they were much simpler and cheaper.  Now you either need to custom cut or have really large crop land to justify a new one.

the rise of farm nostalgia threads as the board demographic has aged is notable.

As it turns out we really are just a bunch of hayseeds.  Which is completely fine and awesome.  Maybe not as hayseedy as that school over in Lawrence but still.

Yes, I did see that one. I also found the Iowa combine photos I was talking about. Sorry I didn't get closer. I was around 4 or 5 beers in at this point.

At least we're proud of our heritage, and not like those pretend '60's California hippies to the east.
