When Currie was first hired, all we heard was how much he increased Tenn's fundraising and how he will do the same for us.  However, we are struggling to get an additional $400k for Frank and co.  Where is his fundraising magic when we need it.
Anyone have insight to how fundraising is going?

Along that line, do you think there is any correlation to the fact that part of McGuffin's responsibility, before he was let go, was "helping lead the department’s major gifts efforts"?

Along with hiring Laird Veatch.

Why does Schulz need to take any heat??  He's trying to manage a school in a state that pretty much turned its back on higher education a long time ago.

What does Schulz have to do to get some hate directed towards him around here?

seems like he's trying to raise money, that's probably what he needs to do right now

Sorry, I guess I don't see how trying to increase revenues solely by raising tuition is an innovative concept.  Or how reducing the athletic department budget by 10 percent per year is going to do anything to solve the greater funding problems the school is facing.

Let's see:

1.  New Senior Assistant AD/Chief of Staff
2.  New Assistant AD for Business
3.  New Senior Assistant AD for Capital Giving.
4.  New Associate AD for Compliance.
5.  New Regional Director of Development for Kansas City

Where does Kurt McGuffin fit in now??

For all we know McGuffin was taking Vacation to interview for another job someplace else.

Real World people, try it sometime.

Pretty sure this is the only means Shulz has to raise revenue, or even to keep up with inflation for that matter.  He can't single-handedly force the legislature to stop making cuts to the school's budget.

Admittedly, I know nothing of our sub-Ad staff or their strengths/weakness.

Also should point out that I could give a crap about who Currie hires and fires and wasn't addressing that.    Currie's staff is Currie in most folks' eyes.  He should form them how he wants, given that.

I'm not sure how things are done at KSU, but I do know how they are done at MU.  When a coach's contract needs to be bought out, or a coach needs to be retained with a new, much larger contract, 5-7 individuals are contacted and asked to write the check.  That's it.  It's that simple.  I'm sure KSU has the same ability...I can't imagine the big donors aren't ecstatic about the bball success under Frank and one (or more) of them will anty up.  I'm not worried....Frank will get his contract.

I'd also like to add that 90% plus of the things I've heard about Kurt McGuffin have not been positive.
I have heard not so positive things about him and I have heard them from big donors.

Holy $hit . . . some K-State fans amaze me how they just read something and take it at absolute face value.
