Chad Ford-Marcus Morris Pick Analysis

Analysis: The Warriors have a lot of front court needs, especially at the 5. But without a legit center available at this point, Morris is a serious option for them. His ability to play multiple positions and score the basketball both on the perimeter and in the post, plus his maturity level, make him a great fit in Golden State.

for the most part i agree with Ford's analysis and think Morris is probably deserving of going this high

but his comment on maturity is dubious

Analysis: The Rockets traded away Shane Battier in February, and Morris wouldn't be a bad long-term replacement. His ability to stretch the floor and rebound, combined with a high basketball IQ, should be welcome in Houston.

the week before confused me equally.  how exactly is Marcus Morris a long term replacement for Shane Battier?  i guess scouts must expect him to keep up with Kevin Durant in the first round of next years playoffs

maybe he surprises....but, having watched him for three years, i dont know what the eff Ford is talking about

Hard for me to imagine him having high IQ of any sort.

That's because you're a racist K-State fan from Wichita.

Or it could be that him and his brother both look and act like full blown retards and had to attend the Apex Academy In A Van Down The River to qualify for college sports.  And dude, you're from Topeka.  The list of cities worse than Topeka is very small.  Hell, people from Dodge City feel bad for you.

You guys loved it when Michael Beasley brought his thuggery to Manhattan (dude was kicked out of like seven different high schools).  The only reason you hate the Morris twins is because they dominated you guys for three years.

And you're right, I'm sure Wichita, KS has its bright spots, just like pretty much any mid-sized city in the United States.  You're the one who constantly goes out of your way to bash Portland, OR of all places, so don't get all butt hurt when I throw in a Wichita jab every now and then.  TIA.

How many elbows did he throw/intentional fouls did he get called on him?

Beasley was pretty much the most lovable guy to put on a uniform that year. Not sure what thuggery you're talking about.

I google searched "morris twins thuggery" and got several results, all articles about how their fouling is excessive and Bill Self should do a better job taking care of them.

Then I google searched "michael beasley thuggery" and only got results for the time that Bynum got a flagrant foul for knocking him to the ground. Nothing about how much Beasley fouls or anything.

Maybe I did it wrong. Could you do a search for those and see what results you get, Beems?

Just googled "Michael Beasley thug" and found this interesting story:

http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/320601935/m/7440074442/p/2

Quote
“At the time, they were just people being really, hideously obnoxious in a theater,” she said.

Malcom said she, her boyfriend and her brother were anxious to check out the new VIP seating at the theater, but she said the night was dominated by Beasley and three other Timberwolves players who wouldn’t shut up.

“They started pulling up people on Facebook and talking about these people on Facebook and tossing things to each other -- and just talking really un-witty commentary during the film,” she recounted. “So, it was an hour and a half of obnoxious behavior and commentary.”

About 15 minutes before the movie ended, Beasley and his teammates were given the boot.

“At one point, as the bouncer was urging them out, one of them said something along the lines of, ‘Do you know who we are?’ because the bouncer said, ‘I dont care if you’re professional athletes. You're ruining the movie for everybody,’” Malcom said.

 :surprised:

Also found this:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/487013-nba-all-thug-team#/articles/487013-nba-all-thug-team/page/7

(Michael Beasley comes in at #7 on their all-thug team):

Quote
Truth be told, Beasley needs to step up his game if he wants to crack the starting lineup. That said, the front office saw lots of potential in this young thug because he was kicked out of three or four high schools as a teenager. Their banking on him realizing his potential as one of the most gifted thugs in the league and are hoping he'll find a mentor in someone like Zach Randolph or Ron Artest.

How many of those tattoos did the Morris twins have when they got to KU?

Jim Tressel wants to know.

I would love to see a movie with Beasley commentary.

I'd kill to have him join goEMAW for a screening of Baby's Breath.  <--- Note we could get real meta with things and make this the premise of Baby's Breath 2.

Here's one of the Morris twins owning us:

Disregard the fact that Pullen went off for 38 after that.

Talking in a theater is the most thuggish thing I've ever seen. Right up there with getting kicked out of bars and fighting the bouncer because of it. That and a list of players who could potentially be thugs. Great posts.

I'll bet if they removed some basic punctuation, that scientific research document "Bluest of the Bluebloods" could get posted on there.  In fact, I would very much like to see that article posted there.
