I can see positives and fault with both coaches. I can't fault a coach that lost by double digits at home to one of the Top teams not only in the state, but in the nation, devising a gameplan to try to win and get his team closer to the playoffs. But I've never liked HS coaches going to the stall/hold the ball strategy either, but with no shot clock they are certainly free to do it.
For the other coach obviously he's doing something right b/c he has one of the Top HS teams in TX and the country. My point about him would be if you are really that good, why let some average HS TX team dictate tempo and pace. If you are really that good (and he even admitted he anticipated they might stall), then put in some half court pressure defense to take the inferior team that wants to stall out of their plan. I mean it sound like they pretty much let them stand around at times in the game, pressure the ball and force the tempo with your team.
