I have a bad habit of having a vision of what a city is even though I’ve never visited. When I was younger I wanted no part of NYC because SNL/Peter Veniman told me one too many times how dirty & awful it was. I went & it’s great. I have the same issue with Nashville. I just assume it’s country music & woo-girl matching shirt bachelorette party hell.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

I'm shocked and disappointed to here you say this. I found it exactly as I feared and worse. I'm not much of a 5 story live country music bar type of guy though.

The bachelorette/5 story country bars are front and center but there's enough else there to avoid it and have a great time.

I should have come here for protips first. I was there for a short time for the Chiefs game so didn't have a lot of time to explore so did the Broadway thing that everybody raves about how great Nashville is and mentions it.

Their food scene was absolute trash.

Did got to Husk which was great but given that's from Charleston I didn't give Nashville too much credit for that one.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much non country music I heard on Broadway. Now it's not going to get confused with Atlanta, by any means, but it was far from all country.

The band in the bar I was in did mostly MJ and Prince covers.

but woo the garbage dumpster water stench that permeates the entirety of Broadway really detracts from the experience IMO

we were watching the 1st floor band at kid rock’s steakhouse from outside on the sidewalk.  this was early in the day, before noon.  the bassist waved at clams gf then the band broke into slide from the goo goo dolls.  what a moment.

as far as the negative comments regarding broadway street, i don’t understand.  to me, it was just a bunch of people having a good time.  admittedly though as someone who was born and raised in the north, i’m pretty fascinated with areas of the south, most of which are completely foreign to me.

knowing nothing about country music, i thought damn near everyone I heard playing in the bars could be on the radio.
except the goo goo dolls guys, they were terrible.

I stumbled upon this thread and just had to chime in. As someone who loves to travel, I always try to keep up with different airports and their offerings. I'm actually surprised to hear that Wilmington has an airport too! And when it comes to flights, I have to admit that I'm a bit of a business class flights. There's just something about being able to relax in comfort and style that makes the entire travel experience much more enjoyable. Of course, it's not always within budget, but it's definitely a treat when I can make it work. Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself as a new member on this forum.
