Heading to Napa tomorrow. Wine country.
I'll be there in October! Give me some deets when you get back and have fun. Airbnb?
We stayed at a bed and breakfast, which is fun to do when you’re going with a group - we went in a group of 8.

Itinerary:

THURSDAY:
Arrive at SFO about noon.  Head to Napa.  Wine tasting at Cliff Lede.  Cinco de Mayo dinner at some Mexican restaurant which was pretty good.

FRIDAY:
Wine tasting at:
1. Robert Mondavi;
2. Vi Sattui - lunch
3. Beaulieu Vineyard

Dinner at Don Giovanni Italian food.  Decent but not my favorite.

Saturday:
Massages at the bnb; tasting at Charles Krug.  Dinner at Brix with a little pre-dinner apps/champagne in the garden.

Sunday: GTFO

Each winery was fun in its own way.  The grounds/view at Robert Mondavi was probably the best.  The wine/vibe at Vi Sattui was the best.  I could skip BV.  Krug is recommended.

Fun trip.  Beautiful area of the country, and I’m not even a big wine boi.

Was this a boys only trip?  Snag any fresh napa pelt?

Went for my sister’s 40th bday.  Me, Mrs. DQ; Sis 1; Sis 2; 2 brothers in law; sister’s friend and her husband.

We got a driver and car for wine tours once and it ruled. We also did a bike one once (not a group one, just Mrs Dave and I). It ruled because when we got tired of biking they just drove out and picked us up. No round trip BS.

We rented a big van near SFO, which we drove over to napa and drove to dinner and crap in.  On the day we went to all the wineries, we hired a driver who just came to our airbnb and hauled us around in the van we rented.  It worked out really well.

I never visited Napa in 10 years living an hour away. Went to Sonoma quite a bit though.

You should've.  It's a fun time, though probably not too different than Sonoma.

also technically Sonoma has the Russian River and coast

but like, I can't remember the differences between any wineries other than the one I was gifted a membership to (that gave us free tastings every day if we wanted them).

Just that time of year for all states trying to get summer tourism. Kansas has a beautiful ad campaign running right now and they must be spending millions in Iowa and Minnesota because they are everywhere and at times when ad rates run the highest, like prime time network TV and during the NBA and NHL playoffs.

It's a shorter version of this ad with many of the same shots but it moves quicker. Harry Trotter scoring against KU is in the newly updated version.
