My us list-
1)prob nyc
2)Colorado ski towns (should probably do a separate ranking just for these and I could do it)
3)jackson and surrounding (includes Tetons and Yellowstone)
4)key west
5)Chicago
6)California beach towns (also prob deserves a separate ranking but I wouldn’t be the one to be able to do it)
7)New Orleans
8)willamette valley
9)sedona area
10)Vegas

I overheard someone try and argue how much better Dallas was than Chicago and it sparked instant rage.

WTF are people doing when they visit Dallas? I’m a prime “Dallas short vacation” target. We went once & all I remember is going to a Stars game.
I got a guy on the other line about some white walls

I’ve spent around a month of my life in each place and can think of no viable argument for Dallas over Chicago as a fun place to visit for three days.

To be fair I think they were talking living vs tourism. In that respect they both would suck for very different reasons

Oh. Might be an interesting discussion for the living in places thread.

For me- downtown Chicago area would be kind of fun. Suburbs in either would not be.

JFK stuff and Fort Worth stockyards? throw in a zoo and a museum and some barbecue and that's an OK family long weekend. :dunno:

1)Aspen-Best food! Best hiking! Best trees in fall! Free in town dial a ride to pick up and take you anywhere you want service! Insane snarkiness and I’m better than you homeowner attitude! Jazz fest! Laugh fest!  Easy #1 pick. From here it gets much harder.

They are definitely neck and neck, but it's personal preference for me.  Summer camping trips put CB on top for me.  If this list is only about food and downtown activities, then yeah Aspen wins.

I would actually prefer the list to not include skiing at all.

I did everything. I lived in CO for 16 years so a lot of the visits were not during ski season.

Yes, make it a mountain town list instead of ski town.

Yeah I probably ranked this one too low.  Grand Lake is great in the summer\leaf peeping!
