Upgraded to swa business select to Houston. Ended up A6 and the 5 Houston bros in front of me all rushed to the exit row legroom seat (this plane only had one). Never seen anything like it. Ive gotten that seat bring like a50 before.

I really hate the swa cattle call seating
do you know what a cattle call is? i don’t think that you do.

I picked that up from other describing southwest boarding process so no I do not. Whatever the proper phrasing is, I don't like it

with no status, you were the 6th person to board and had your pick of any seat on the plane except the 5 exit row seats, and this is why you hate it.  makes complete sense, imo.

I think cattle herding is the appropriate term, Phil.

A cattle call was originally an open audition which would have a lot of people come. I’ve heard the term “put out the cattle call” to mean put out a mass announcement to get as many people as you can. I don’t think calling the SW boarding process a cattle call is as off as you guys are saying.

Went to the beach there to check out seals. There are a ton of restaurants in a small area, all the restaurants are small and unsurprisingly, expensive. What is surprising is that there aren't many mexican restaurants. We ate at a place called Puesto, and it wasn't the least bit authentic. It was okay, but you can get better mexican food almost anywhere for much better prices. I don't remember the prices, but they were obscene, like $7-8 a taco, pre pandemic.

Best breakfast burrito of my life was on a second floor outside tiny place just as you start up the hill from the seal area/park. I asked for hot sauce and I got a little cup of their own thick hot sauce and, folks, it was hot. AF. Bigly.

the oxbow market is tremendous and great for shopping for food to take on a picnic.

Have you made reservations for tastings? Where are you staying?

I was considering a trip too, but the weather looks like crap. Cubs tickets were really cheap on Friday if they're able to get the game in.

I overheard someone try and argue how much better Dallas was than Chicago and it sparked instant rage.
