He has a family. Lock them all up from going to work, school, etc. for a month. Border up the house and leave a trail of gasoline from where you've been previously and light a match so you can go on vacation! :excited:

I get calls for everyone to shut up on this topic in this thread. But can we circle back on wacky saying “border up the house”.

It's absolute kayos! (sp?)

My biggest concern about traveling out of the country is the testing requirement to get back in.  I schedule most of our vacations between openings in work schedules so getting hung up out of the country waiting on a neg test would be less than ideal.

Since we have extended WFH through the end of the year I'm planning on driving out to CO/WY and staying for a couple weeks.  Probably stay in Estes Park or somewhere like that for a bit then cruise on up to WY and stay with family for a TBD amount of time.  Already have a cabin vision quest scheduled to stay at to hike in and out of, no electricity or running water.  Should be a great time.

Saint Marteen is now open to Americans, if I can find a way to get a timely test result, it's still on the table for a month.  Still worried about the internet speeds.

it's Sint Maarten (dutch half) or Saint Martin (french half) but never Saint Marteen

I'm almost at the end of my Delta status match challenge. I got upgraded a ton more than I did with United Platinum, but it's looking like I'll get gold instead of platinum for the rest of the year. Also it's clear it will be way harder to hit status compared to Delta because with United there would be some crazy expensive last minute ticket that would up my status miles since it was purely dollar based and Delta is only distance.

Oh well, LGA and JFK are way more convenient than EWR.

I don't think I've ever been to JFK.  Looking to go to NY this summer on Jetblue so might be my first.

I've really grown fond of Delta lately, but holy crap sometimes their prices are insane. Looked up a weekend visit to Nashville for Mrs Wacky's birthday in September. Flights we're about $120 on Southwest and they were triple the cost for Delta. It's a 1 hour flight. Relax, bros.

SW will always be the best option for going between random Midwestern cities that aren't hubs for any of the big 3

Haven't flown Delta in a while. Used to take a sunday night flight to MN quite a bit with the old NWA. They were awesome. I would just walk up there and ask if they had any open first class and almost every time they were like, yep, we got you SF. Tried that soon after the merger and they moved me to the back middle seat immediately.

Have only flown once so far but the flights are really going to start for me end of May. If I don't get platinum it'll be a let down. One turnaround trip should secure silver, and then it should just be a parade from there.

Ben ji's parents have been rough ridin' living up the mid 60's retired traveling life since last fall when covid restrictions started lifting a bit. They have so much pent up travel energy its getting absurd.

Probably 5? Caribbean cruises (They rough ridin' love that crap) which they pretty much got for free just because they needed people on the ship. Most of the time they drove from KC to Miami or Galveston so add another 3+ days of driving for 6 hours then stopping at a town to hit up the casino's/breweries.

They also flew into Phoenix in early march, rented a car and drove around the grand canyon area then up to vegas for about a week.

My mom is currently on some river cruise in the Netherlands and keeps sending me pictures of tulips. My dad sat this one out to go out to the farm so my mom went with a friend.

They are going on an Alaskan Cruise sometime in July and then a Mediterranean cruise in November out of Venice that goes to Italy/Croatia/Greece.

If you can't tell they absolutely love cruises.

One time in Jan or Feb they finished a cruise and the day before they got off they were offered another free cruise starting the next day on the same ship but a different destination. Since they had nothing else to do they just took it and texted me "We got a free cruise, can you take care of the cats/birds for another week?".

To where tho? You can't fly direct to MCI from DSM, OMA, or MSP. Are these cities like to crap airports like Lubbock, Garden City, and Green Bay?

Delta flies direct to MSP?
