Anyways. Not testing to get back in is nice. I'd encourage all survivors to take advantage

this is 100% why they should have parachutes under people’s seats

100 amateur skydivers jumping out of a commercial airliner, nothing could possibly go wrong.

I mean, its a ridiculous idea, but i'm not sure I'd be worried about being around a bunch of amateur sky divers when my plane was barreling toward the ground.

Yeah ... I'd still rather take my chances as an amateur skydiver, tbh.

imagine if the plane was going down so you jumped out but then the pilot managed to regain control and save the plane but then your parachute malfunctioned. that is comedy gold!

I was listening to some podcast the other day and a guy was talking about the first MiG's produced in the 50's and how they had no safety features. So basically if you wanted to bail out you had to manually open the canopy, then unbuckle yourself while taking care not to unbuckle the parachute. Then, because the jet is moving so fast it's nearly impossible to climb out so you were supposed to roll the plane over and fall out.

You get a carry-on bag. If you choose to not use it to pack a parachute, that's on you.

a lot of the better, more modern parachutes are so small that even when fully deployed there’s enough room in the cabin for everyone to use theirs.  so, ultimately, no need to leave the safety of the fuselage while parachuting away from the potential air catastrophe.
