Arm rest point is huge. The flight out to Atlanta was miserable, because the dude in the middle seat took up both arm rests and had his legs wide out. He was deep in purple, so I let it slide. lol.
Middle seat always gets both arm rests. The leg spread thing is bs though.
Not on United they don't. They put the DirecTV remote on the middle arm rest for the window seat.
When I flew back I got an exit row seat. I always pick my seat the night before and I pick a window seat with an empty middle next to it, which is usually an exit row seat. Anyway my middle seat was open, great. Not great, one of the flight attendant gave some back the plane, boarding group 5 dweller, a free upgrade to my empty middle seat. The guy literally has broader shoulders than I do and I have some hefty shoulders. Dude comes in with no shame, wedges his shoulders in so aggressively he moved my left shoulder forward. I was pissed. He silverbacked me. He instantly closed his eyes, acting like we was sleep, we were barely taxiing. I hardly ever watch the DirecTV on domestic flights but I remembered the remote was on the middle arm rest. So I "woke" his ass up, reclaimed my arm rest, and switched between the Olympics and Ridiculousness for the entirety of the flight. More importantly I had room for my left shoulder and arm.
I also took a picture of this dude all in my space, sent it to united telling them I didn't pay $100 to upgrade my seat to have someone who didn't pay a dime take my space. I got a refund and 5000 miles.
