Searsucker is good.  Miguels was good Mexican.  There was a good fish taco / seafood place that was great but looks like it closed.

Our hotel is near the airport, on the bay. I don't know San Diego that well. I've only been there once and it was for one day. Staying at the Sheraton.

In the Point Loma area (by the airport), I would say:
Island Prime
Coasterra

Sushi spots:
Hane
Azuki
Both are in bankers hill

I would probably stay clear of downtown and the gas lamp. But if you want to eat there I’d recommend bang bang.

Little italy has a lot of trendy spots:
juniper & ivy
Kettner exchange
Born and raised
Ironside
Herb and wood

Juniper probably has the best food of that group and they all have good cocktails.

Also whether you're with the family or not and you're a gelatto fan, I strongly recommend An's Dry Cleaning. It's in the North Park neighborhood that has a lot of good restaurants and bars. They make the gelatto by hand every day, which means the later you go, they could be out of some flavors. Its the second best ice cream/gelatto I've ever had and I make a point to get ice cream whenever I go anywhere.

Flying out there with the wife and we’re hanging with my college buddy and his girl. He works for Farmers, so he hooked us up with some sweet field passes and suites for the golf tournament there. My uncle and cousin will be out there too.

If you had the boy I had a recommendo that you all would love, since he isn't with you don't go and hang out at a restaurant with other people's kids, no matter how good the food is.

Yeah, first time leaving him on a vacation. We've only done overnights with him and the grandparents. 4 days away. I'm ready to see some water works from the Mrs. lol.

Fun. Looking forward to some really good seafood.

Blue Water Seafood Market and Grill. Lots of fresh fish options and was by far our favorite place to eat. On India St. right off I-5

I'm going to Negril for "ski week". I'm staying at the Riu Tropical Bay because I didn't want to plan crap. But is there anything I should do on a random afternoon if we want to get off the resort?

I've done the bioluminescent swim at night in Jamaica.  It wasn't anything that I would put into a "must" category but I enjoyed it and it could be good with kids.
