Did you ever spend way too much money on something that wasn't as great as you thought it was going to be but instead of admitting that you may have done something stupid you try to convince yourself that you really do love the thing and that it really was worth all of the money you paid?
lmao

Actually this is good

Chicago was great. Stayed at Palmer House. Got a nice diamond upgrade to top floor. Food was great. Hit Miller's late on Thursday. Pizano's Pizza on Friday. Arlington Million Room on Saturday. Breakfast three mornings at the hotel.

Loved walking around downtown every morning. Absolutely love city architecture.

Arlington Park is a phenomenal race track. The interior is world class. I certainly hope Churchill Downs Inc changes direction and keeps it running.

Looking forward to the next trip.

I went to a work outing at Arlington and got blackout drunk on Miller Lite and lost every single horse bet I made!

Went to Tulsa last week with in-laws for a cheap vrbo vacay. Vrbo had a nice pool.

Went to Diamond in the rough woolaroc, gathering place, aquarium, got some hideaway pizza which was pleasantly delicious.

Good time

Oh. Well, my question wasn't as dumb as it sounded. There is actually a pretty solid racetrack in/around Arlington, TX.

How dare you guys imply that Grand Prairie and Arlington are the same place.

The year I lived in FL was great because I lived near Tampa Bay Downs and could slide in on a weekday during my kid's cheer practice and watch a couple of races and/or play a few hands of poker.

wow!

So I'm a United Gold but I wonder if I should do a status match to Delta at the end of 2021 given I'll be in NYC.

for NYC is Delta the best? United has the only true "hub" but Delta and AA have a lot of direct flights. I'll probably be about the same distance from all three airports. Most of my flights will probably be to the South and Midwest.

may belong in the CC thread, not sure!

Also I think United is best in NYC from my experience. But probably depends on which airport you want to fly out of. You should be a Newark guy. United has flat beds on Newark directs to the west coast.

even as a gold I've never been eligible for those lieflat upgrades - it's only those transcon routes that I'm ineligible for but I wouldn't get them anyway because so many elites are flying SFO-EWR all the time. I'm comfortable with Newark (although the cab/uber situation SUCKED crap when I was there end of June)

I'm going to Vegas next weekend for a group bday trip and they just reinstated masks and it's kinda bumming me out. If it was just a trip for myself I'd cancel but since it's a group trip I'll just deal with it. I don't care about wearing one at the grocery store or whatever but I'm not trying to vacation like that, especially a place like Vegas. Ugh.

On the bright side my room has gone down $400.

just hold a beer or smoke a cig and no one will ever make you wear a mask anywhere but like a grocery store (and even then they won't give a eff)

I’ve just been holding my water bottle the whole time in the airport so I have an excuse not to when sitting down. That sucks tho ss7. I got to enjoy Vegas during the perfect time apparently.
